the Darkness awake

Darcy shook her head "I don't want to go anywhere but Ashie's grave, leave me be all of you" she said her sword still within her hand, a steady grasp still apparent

Kouta looked at Darcy, and lightly grabbed her wrist, "I know it's hard, but it wasnt your fault..." Kouta said lightly, starting to pull the sword away from her, "Take your time, love, i understand the pain..."

Darcy grasped the sword harder and pulled away from Bourny and Kouta "I write my own story, my own destiny, i will not be controlled by you" she sighed "You have had a price on your head for a very long time, be thankful that i have sacrificed something to keep you alive, so let me go!" she shoved Kouta away and began to walk slowly away

"You sacrificed everything? you forget who I am... and... my life means nothing... aparently, my time is comin soon anyways"

Darcy shook her head "No, my freedom is coming to an end" she shook her head and looked at Kouta "Your gonna leave me like the rest" she said sadly mum, dad, brother, Ashie,....everyone goes, even those with eternal life "Im leaving" she said firmly.

"I am not leaving... i made you a promise.. and everybody... isnt so distant as you believe..."

Darcy shook her head "No, im leaving, the sacrifice I made was...." she looked into Kouta's eyes "My freedom to choose the one who rules by my side"

"I have already told you, nothing can take you from me..." Kouta said, "You have not sacrificed that..."

Darcy sighed and pulled back her hair, placing it behind her ear, a cross was clearly marked there "I have no choice, its for everyone's sake they discovered that I have more power than my body can handle" she let the hair fall back into place "Double edged sword, I save you, I cant save myself"

"Then... I save you..." Kouta said, appearing right infront of Darcy, "From the begining i have sworn... My life...for yours..."

Darcy shook her head "I am going to save myself, by training as hard as i can but I need you to promise me something"

"Anything love" Kouta said softly.

"If i go crazy and start attacking people" she paused "Kill me!"

"If you o crazy and attack, you will kill me, and with that, apart of me, fused with you." Kouta started, "A fail safe i was combined with, it would make you come back... with a small loss in power..."

Darcy sighed "So stubborn, all because of love or is it guilt"

Kouta grabbed darcy, holding her close, "What do you think?" He asked, poking his nose.

Darcy stood limply "Love, I hope" she said, her sword hanging limply in one hand

Kouta grabbed the sword, "Of course it it..." Kouta said, before kissin her, "You dont need to fight... not while i am here..."

Darcy kissed him back "I want to fight my own battles" she said suddenly clinging onto him, she felt suddenly so weak.

"So headstrong... you take after me nicely" Kouta smiled, holdin her, carryin the weight she lent on him, gladly.

Darcy sighed "I dont want to be your damsel in distress forever Kouta-kun, let me grow please"

Bourny was still stood where Darcy had pushed him away "Not like you could kill me sis" he tilted his head with a smile "Plus almost every demon has a price on their heads, this place would be a gold mine for a head hunter, if they could survive it"

Darcy pulled herself clear of Kouta "Just leave me alone, all of you" she said the night air becoming colder, "Leave me alone" she said sheathing her sword and walking away

Kouta sighed, "So tell me, when were you the damsel in distress? have i not allowed you to fight your own battles? only stepping in if you needed it?"
